Project Affected Persons (PAPs) in Batch 1A

In 2016 the idea of Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area Urban Development Program (GKMA-UDP) was born to spearhead infrastructural development in the Metropolitan area of Kampala through coordinated planning and implementation among the nine entities of Kampala City Council Authority (KCCA), Kira Municipality, Nansana Municipality, Wakiso District, Makindye Ssabagabo Municipality, Entebe Municipality, Mukono Municipality, Mukono District and Mpigi District. For the purposes of program coordination the Ministry of Kampala Capital City Authority and Metropolitan Affair was created under the Office of the President to serve the purpose.

Funded by the Government of Uganda with support from the World Bank, the French government through AFD and the Government of Japan through JICA.

The arrangement was that no compensation to be given to the land owners but rather people along those corridors had to be mobilized to voluntarily accept and give right of way for road development and community engagements were/ have been carried out and many have positively responded and formally signed the consents for the projects to go on.

Here bellow is the lists of the projected affected persons in batch 1A and the size of their land to be affected in the due course.
