REPORT ON JOINT TRAINING OF MDFs AND MUNICIPAL TECHNICAL STAFF ON ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES HELD AT KIRA MUNICIPAL COUNCIL HALL ON JUNE 2025

 

Kira MC joined other Urban Municipalities in setting up an Urban Forum as per the guidance from the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development. The objective was to ensure that we bring together stakeholders in the urban sector together to discuss issues pertaining sustainable urban development at the National Level.

Kira Municipal Council reconstituted its Metropolitan Development Forum (MDF) on the 15th May, 2025 following the expiry of the previous KMDF on 16th February, 2025, different organizations and sectors nominated/ elected a representative to be part of this forum and submitted the nominated Chairpersons to the office of the Town Clerk. All the required sectors are now fully represented and ratified by Council with a minute number 309/COU/KMC/06/2025.

MDF members are part of the key stakeholders in implementation of almost all the key activities within the different departments. They are involved in the planning, budgeting, monitoring and evaluation of projects among many other roles.
